welcome from our program director

I am proud to be part of the Division of Pediatric Gastroenterology at the Warren Alpert Medical School of Brown University.  Located in Providence, Rhode Island, our fellowship program is primarily situated at Hasbro Children’s Hospital, a tertiary care center which serves a diverse and medically complex patient population.  Before beginning my own medical training here, I was unfamiliar with the hospital and the area.  Having spent most of my life in and around the major cities of the Northeast it has been an unexpected delight to find myself living in Rhode Island, working here at Brown/Hasbro.

Our hospital is an exceptional place to train.  Foremost, my colleagues are an accomplished and inspiring group who foster a warm yet rigorous learning environment.  Pediatric gastroenterology runs a high-volume service with exposure to a broad range in acuity of care, providing a well-rounded experience.  Our fellows work hard, are well-mentored, and graduate with competence and confidence in their clinical and endoscopic skills.  There are numerous opportunities for scholarly activity within our division, the department, and the medical school.  Our academic relationship with Brown University provides a rich resource for education and research.

The members of our division are a close-knit group with a strong culture of camaraderie; the team genuinely enjoys spending time together.  We also recognize the importance of rejuvenating time with friends and family outside of the hospital.  Providence is a wonderful city with all the amenities of a large metropolitan area without the hassle or expense.  Commutes are easy (I walk to work most days!).  Fine arts at the RISD Museum, world-class music and theater at the PPAC, and James Beard-recognized restaurants are all within a quick drive to the beautiful beaches of Rhode Island or the mountains of New England.

Thank you for your interest in our program.  We look forward to hearing from you.
