Irina Gorbounova, MD

Position: Pediatric Gastroenterologist

Irina Gorbounova, MD is an Assistant Professor of Pediatrics and Clinical Educator at The Warren Alpert Medical School of Brown University and Hasbro Children’s Hospital.  She completed her general pediatrics residency in New York at Mount Sinai Kravis Children’s Hospital and fellowship training in Pediatric Gastroenterology, Hepatology and Nutrition at University of Washington/Seattle Children’s Hospital. 

Dr. Gorbounova enjoys seeing children with a variety of gastrointestinal disorders, but has a special interest in Disorders of Gut-Brain Interaction (DGBI). She believes in well-rounded and multidisciplinary approach and is actively building a multidisciplinary program “Mind-Gut Wellness Clinic” for children and adolescents with DGBI at Hasbro Children’s Hospital.  Dr. Gorbounova’s research interests include functional abdominal pain, pediatric chronic pain, and sleep. 

In her spare time, Dr. Gorbounova enjoys spending time outdoors, running, practicing yoga, and traveling.
